"I was born on June 24, 1986 in a southern
city of Iran called Zahedan. When I was 7 I moved to
Mashhad, and it was at age 13 that I found my passion
for music.
I began playing a Persian instrument
called Tonbak. After a year, I decided I wanted to learn
Spanish Guitar with my first instructors Reza Sadr and
Shahnam Rezaei. Little by little I learned to play other
instruments like Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Electric
Guitar, Piano, and some of the traditional Persian
instruments such as Se-tar. Although I was playing
different instruments I found the sound of Bass
extremely fascinating and fell in love with it, spending
nearly 8-10 hours each day practicing. Since Bass Guitar
was not a very popular instrument in Iran, I did not
have the opportunity to have an instructor; therefore,
everything I learned was self taught. I was practicing
all types of music, but my main interest was in Rock.
At 17 I joined a Death Thrash Metal band
called Arsames in Mashhad and took the responsibility of
arranging their first album. I also had the pleasure of
writing some of the songs on the same album. At 19 I
moved to the country’s capital, Tehran, and I attended
the Tehran Music Conservatory College, graduating with a
Music Composition BA and started performing in major
events. It was around this time I had the honor of
working with Ehsan Khajehamiri, Arian Band, Reza Sadeghi,
Mohammad Esfahani, Hamid Khandan, Mehdi Moghadam, Hamid
Hami, Masoud Khadem, Maziar Asri, Mehran Ahrari, Omid
Rashidi and many other great singers and musicians. And
I also became a Bass Guitar instructor at the
Conservatory College. I also worked with some of the
biggest Heavy Metal Bands in Iran such as Arthimouth,
5grs, Direct Vision.
I moved to the United States in May of
2010 and remain true in following my passion in music.
While I have been here, I have continued to work with
extremely talented artists of whom I am also honored to
have collaborated with, such as Bijan Mortazavi.
Since finishing school I have had
numerous contracts with different bands, playing various
styles, while composing and arranging pieces for a
continually growing list of genres for over seven years.
In all of my years of playing, I have performed in over
850 live concerts—my biggest event being in Turkey
during the summer of 2007 with Farzad Golpayegani’s Band
in front of over 45,000 people. I was excited to learn
that the concert had later been mentioned on CNN.
Over the years, there have been several
articles written in different magazines from different
countries, such as Turkey, Netherlands, Germany,
Malaysia and Norway about the events I have attended and
taken part in. Among some of the articles I was honored
and flattered, at having been mentioned as one the
technical fastest bass players. When I am not performing
live or collaborating with other artists, I spend my
free time working on and looking forward to what will be
my first album. I am also looking forward to receive my
Master Degree at Musician Institute."
