Ali Sanaei is a Los Angeles-based bassist, band leader, music director, singer and music producer whose work spans international touring, studio recording and music education. With more than 25 years in music, he brings the perspective of a performer, band leader and teacher to every project.
A self-taught bass guitarist, Ali developed his playing independently, without a bass teacher. A graduate of Tehran Music Conservatory, he studied composition and classical voice from 2006 to 2009 and taught bass guitar at the conservatory for a year during his studies. He moved to the United States in 2010 and is based in West Los Angeles.
His career includes approximately 2,000 concerts and live programs worldwide. In many of these performances, he has worked as a bassist, band leader and music director. His work as a music producer and recording musician also includes contributions to more than 150 studio recordings. Playing electric, acoustic and fretless bass, he has performed across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, including Hollywood Bowl, Dolby Theatre, Kia Forum and YouTube Theater.

His collaborations include Googoosh, Aref, Mohsen Yeganeh, Leila Forouhar, Moein, Siavash Ghomayshi, Faramarz Aslani, Babak Amini, Behnam Bani, Blackcats, Shahram Shabpareh and many other artists, with responsibilities ranging from performance and recording to musical direction and band leadership. He served as music director, band leader and tour manager for Farzad Farzin’s 2025–2026 tour in the United States.
In 2013, Ali founded BASSPRODUCTION in Los Angeles. His studio work includes music production, artist development and vocal recording. Projects include music production and vocal recording for the unreleased Aref Unplugged project, vocal recording supervision for Farzad Farzin, and production and artist development for Farshid Farkhan.
Alongside his performance and production work, Ali has taught more than 600 students, ages 12–80, since 2004. His private and group lessons cover bass, guitar, Persian pop singing, vocal coaching and music production, combining musical foundations with practical experience in the studio and on stage.
